The Dubbo Koori Interagency Network acknowledges the many local peoples, the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we meet and work.

We wish to pay our respects to the elders of the tribes both past and present and all Aboriginal people in Dubbo.

Wirrimbah Direct Descendants Aboriginal Corporation was registered on the 24/08/1998 as an incorporated association under the Aboriginal Councils and Associations Act 1976 as amended.

Since that time Wirrimbah Direct Descendants Corporation has been the legal entity or the administrative arm of the traditional custodians of the Dubbo area.

The aims and objectives of the corporation are many but include the following

1) To become a registered body corporate in relation to native title claims made on behalf of the members of the corporation

2) To protect and maintain the cultural heritage of the Traditional custodians of the Dubbo area

The membership of Wirrimbah Direct Descendants Corporation is made up of natural or adopted siblings of the direct descendents of the traditional custodians of Dubbo who apply to the committee and who qualify for membership.

The traditional custodians of Dubbo and the surrounding areas are the Tubba–Ga, or Dubbo–Ga peoples, the peoples within the Wiradjuri Nation of the area which includes but is not necessarily limited to the Dubbo Local Aboriginal Land Council & Dubbo City Council areas.
